The Apartment

Les Muriers, situated near Cannes, France, is a historic property of great character available for summer rentals.

Situated in a gated community, Les Muriers was the former home of an international best-selling author and is a sought-after retreat for film and TV professionals during the Cannes Festivals.

This beautiful late 19th-century Florentine villa, with its wonderful façades, is in superb condition and excellent decorative order.

The entire villa consists of four residences. There are two adjoining apartments on the ground floor and we have the East Wing for rent. We plan to sell it at the end of the summer. The upstairs two apartments are lived in all the year round by permanent residents. The apartment has a large living room with fireplace, an American style kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom.


The property has a beautifully landscaped garden with mature trees, fountain, terraces, garages plus additional parking spaces.

Property details:

2 bedroom ground floor apartment, approx. 110 sq.meters features a spectacular painted ceiling, gothic windows and entrance hall, a fully-equipped office on the mezzanine level, and a grand gothic entrance hall. It also has a small private pool and private laundry facilities. It provides excellent access for handicapped people.

Another apartment is often available to rent and this enables 8 adults (plus two babies) to be housed comfortably.

Also on the property is a large communal pool with barbeque, kitchenette and changing room.

Les Muriers is secured by an alarm system with remote control. Total privacy is ensured.

Underneath is a cellar which would almost do justice for Saddam Hussein's bunker . . . but is wonderful for laundry. Perhaps it would do well as a childrens' room with table tennis and snooker . . . .



It also has a room for the filter for the splashpool in the garden.

The views are wonderful and relaxing.

The apartment backs onto gardens shared by the other apartments. If you are thinking of buying the apartment rather than renting, this has the adavantage that the place and main pool are looked after whilst you are away. If you rent it out, you won't have the bind of having to get in pool maintenance, except for the small pool in the garden, and phone calls from 1000 miles away "The pool's gone green!"

Les Muriers is 20 minutes away (25 kms) from Nice Cote d'Azur Airport Taxi fare approximately 75 EUR (including tip) and 5 minutes away (3 kms) from the private jet facilities at Cannes-Mandelieu. Most of the time the aerodrome is used by small private planes such as Piper Alphas, so it's not like being that near to a proper airport, whilst watching the little planes can be entertaining.
